abstract
  • Buck-Tick originally formed in 1984 as a cover band called Hinan Go-Go, which featured Hisashi Imai and Hidehiko Hoshino on guitars, Yutaka Higuchi on bass, Atsushi Sakurai on drums, and a man named Araki on vocals. A year later, Araki left the band, Atsushi abandoned the drums to become the group's new singer, Toll Yagami (Yutaka's brother) became the new drummer, and Hinan Go-Go was renamed Buck-Tick (pronounced %22Baku-Chiku%22, meaning firecracker). Buck-Tick's lineup has not changed from 1985 to the present day.Though he's not a member of the group, Kazutoshi Yokoyama has contributed to every album since 1992's %22殺シノ調ベ This Is NOT Greatest Hits%22, and is considered by many to be Buck-Tick's unofficial sixth member.

  • Buck-Tick (stylized as BUCK-TICK) is a Japanese rock band, formed in Fujioka, Gunma in 1983. The group has consisted of Atsushi Sakurai (lead vocals), Hisashi Imai (guitar), Hidehiko Hoshino (guitar), Yutaka Higuchi (bass) and Toll Yagami (drums) since 1985. In their three decade career, the band has released 19 studio albums, nearly all reaching the top ten on the charts, of which three in the late eighties and early nineties topped them. In addition to having experimented with many different genres of music, including punk, dark wave, electronic, industrial, gothic and straight rock, they are commonly credited as one of the founders of the visual kei movement. The five members have also worked on individual projects and collaborated with many other famous artists, both Japanese and foreign, including Maki Fujii (Soft Ballet), Issay (Der Zibet), Kiyoshi (Media Youth, Spread Beaver), Masami Tsuchiya (Ippu-Do), Raymond Watts (PIG), Sascha Konietzko (KMFDM), Clan of Xymox, Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins) and Kelli Ali (Sneaker Pimps).
