| - Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt first emerged as pioneers in the lite-jazz music scene in the early 1980's. They continued to refine their jazz versus electronica sound through eight studio albums until they gained larger exposure in 1994 through a collaboration with Massive Attack on %22Protection%22 and their hit album %22Amplified Heart.%22 The Todd Terry remix of %22Missing%22 was a smash hit in 1995 and continues to be remixed and played to this day. After the success of %22Missing%22, the duo took their music in a more beat-oriented and clubbier direction, with Tracey lending her vocals as guest singer on several club tracks by Deep Dish and others. Their latest musical outing was a volume in the DMC %22Back To Mine%22 series in late 2001. The duo got their name from a furniture store ad which proclaimed, %22For your bedroom needs, we have everything but the girl.%22

| - Everything but the Girl (often shortened EBTG) was an English musical duo, formed in Hull in 1982, consisting of lead singer and occasional guitarist Tracey Thorn and guitarist, keyboardist, and singer Ben Watt. The duo's most successful single was a Todd Terry remix of %22Missing%22 charting in several countries in 1995.They are currently inactive, although vocalist Tracey Thorn hinted that they may perform again someday. They have not performed publicly since 2000, and as Thorn stated on BBC Radio4 on 25 January 2014, %22for both Ben and me, it would feel like a step backwards%22.Watt and Thorn are also a couple; they are very private about their relationship and personal life. For some time, it was not a publicised fact that they were a couple, or that they had married subsequently. The duo have expressed a strong desire to raise their three children with as much privacy as possible.
