After the divorce of her parents she changed her surname to her mother's maiden name: Jett. At age 15, Jett co-founded [a242611].   • Joan Jett (born Joan Marie Larkin; September 22, 1958) is an American rock guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and occasional actress, best known for her work with Joan Jett & the Blackhearts, preceded by success with The Runaways, including their hit song %22Cherry Bomb%22. The Blackhearts' record %22I Love Rock 'n' Roll%22, was No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 from March 20 to May 1, 1982. Their other popular recordings include %22Crimson and Clover%22, %22I Hate Myself for Loving You%22, %22Do You Wanna Touch Me%22, %22Light of Day%22, %22Love Is All Around%22 and %22Bad Reputation%22.Jett has a mezzo-soprano vocal range. She has three albums that have been certified Platinum or Gold, and has been a feminist icon throughout her career. She is considered by the Toronto Sun as the Queen of Rock ‘n Roll. She is also known as the Godmother of Punk. In 2015, she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
