He has also released some solo records with Atlantic at the end of the '80s and other, more smooth jazz oriented, in the beginning of the new century on Blue Note.--------------Guitarist Paul Jackson Jr. joined %22The Tonight Show Band%22 in 2010 with Musical Director Rickey Minor.Jackson began his career in entertainment at 7 years old while acting on numerous television shows, commercials and films such as %22Good Times%22 and %22The Sting.%22 At age 12, Jackson started playing the guitar. He joined the family band that included his siblings, his mother, and good friend Cornelius Mims.When he was 18, Jackson broke into the Los Angeles studio scene and has since contributed his talent to such artists as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, Patti LaBelle, The Crusaders, Johnny Mathis, Gladys Knight, Ella Fitzgerald, Dave Koz, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, Bobby Brown, Steely Dan, Chicago, The Temptations, Lionel Richie, Elton John, Kenny Rogers, Jewel, and Barry White. He remains one of, if not the most recorded guitarist in history.Jackson's television credits include %22American Idol,%22 NBC's %22America's Got Talent%22, %22The Grammys%22, and %22Celebrity Duets.%22 He was the composer for the TV shows%22 %22Martin%22 and %22Townsend Television%22 and composed music for the movie %22Undercover Brother.%22 Paul was also the musical director for the NARIS Icon Awards.In addition, Jackson also boasts an impressive solo career that includes six CDs, the first of which received a Grammy Award nomination, and a #1 single at jazz radio.Jackson resides in Los Angeles.

| - Paul Milton Jackson, Jr. (born December 30, 1959) is a fusion/urban jazz composer, arranger, producer and guitarist. He was born and raised in Los Angeles. Jackson knew by the age of fifteen that he wanted to become a professional musician. He attended the University of Southern California, majoring in music.In addition to being a recording artist in his own right, Jackson is also highly accomplished L.A. session player, with a career spanning multiple decades. He has supported artists ranging from Michael Jackson (on the albums Thriller, Bad, Dangerous, HIStory and Blood on the Dance Floor: HIStory in the Mix) to the Temptations, Whitney Houston, Alexander O'Neal, Howard Hewett, Thomas Anders, Patti LaBelle and Luis Miguel, to rockers such as Chicago and Elton John, to jazz-oriented players such as George Duke, George Benson, Dave Koz, Al Jarreau, David Benoit, Marcus Miller and Kirk Whalum, and to Christian artists such as Leon Patillo and Don Moen.In 2013 it was revealed he contributed to several tracks on the album, Random Access Memories by Daft Punk and UK based singer songwriter Birdy's second album %22Fire Within.%22 He also played guitar on Lisa Stansfield's 2014 album, Seven.Jackson can be seen playing guitar in a wide variety of styles on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno and American Idol.
