  • Robert Fripp is best known as a founder and continuing member of King Crimson; from the debut album %22In The Court Of The Crimson King%22 in 1969, through to the most recent full length %22The Power To Believe%22. His career to date celebrates over 30 years as a professional musician and 40 years as a guitarist. Also well known for the development of Frippertronics and Soundscapes, a method of %22making a lot of noise with one guitar%22 through the use of tape / digital delay, rack-mount synthesizer units, and other effects. He also owns and operates his own record label Discipline Global Mobile which specializes in re-releases of King Crimson material, as well as side projects from many of the rotating KC members, himself included.Born 16-05-1946 in Wimborne, Dorset, United Kingdom.

  • Robert Fripp (born 16 May 1946) is an English guitarist, composer and record producer.As a guitarist for the progressive rock band King Crimson, Fripp has been the only member to have played in all of King Crimson's line-ups from the late 1960s to the early 2010s. He is the driving creative and political force of the group, bearing responsibility for line-up changes and ending and resuming the group at various points. He has also worked extensively as a studio musician, notably with singer David Bowie on the albums %22Heroes%22 and Scary Monsters, and contributed sounds to the Windows Vista operating system. His complete discography lists more than seven hundred releases over four decades.He is ranked 62nd on Rolling Stone magazine's 2011 list of the %22100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time%22 after having been ranked by David Fricke 42nd on its 2003 list. Tied with Andrés Segovia, he also is ranked 47th on Gibson.com's %22Top 50 guitarists of all time%22.His compositions often feature unusual time signatures, which have been influenced by classical and folk traditions. His innovations have included Frippertronics, soundscapes, and New standard tuning.
