  • Singer. Born 07.11.1954 in Brooklyn, New York.She started her career as a backing vocalist for Melissa Manchester, Chaka Khan and Leo Sayer and as a singer for jingles. She had to wait 10 years between the releases of her first and second album. She had a huge hit with %22First Time%22 due to its use in a Coca Cola commercial. She collaborated with Desmond Child and songs she first sung, were later hits for Cher, Bonnie Tyler, Kiss and John Waite.Especially recommended is her lost 1979 debut album, %22Sweet Talk%22, produced by disco producer Kenny Lehman. It still is a sought-after record to this day and which to many a discerning ear rivals the greats of this bygone era of timeless disco music.

She topped the singles chart in the UK in 1988, and Germany in 1989, with her single %22First Time%22, which had come to the public's attention via its use in a Coca-Cola commercial. Other well-known songs of hers are %22Save Up All Your Tears%22, %22In My Heart to Stay%22, %22Tears in the Rain%22 and %22Close to You%22.Also, %22First Time%22 was successfully covered or sampled many times, the most recent was made by Sunblock in 2006, charting #9 on the UK single charts. Beck also performed it with German pop star Helene Fischer.
