  • Avant-garde Black Metal unit Sigh were formed in 1989 in Japan by Mirai (voice, bass, keyboard), Satoshi (guitar) and Kazuki (drums). Inspired by Venom and other '80s Thrash bands, Sigh soon adopted the European approach of Black Metal. Gaining the interest of Norwegian mastermind Euronymous, they signed with the guitarists' Deathlike Silence Productions, but their debut for the label wasn't released until after Euronymous' death in 1993.The full-length %22Scorn Defeat%22, which featured Sigh's new guitarist Shinichi (and Satoshi behind the drum kit), gained international underground respect and allowed the band to progress and continue recording intelligent releases. Their unique noises and compositions insanity helped the band become popular in the underground and beyond, reaching greater success with later albums, namely %22Hail Horror Hail%22, %22Scenario IV: Dread Dreams%22 and %22Imaginary Sonicscape%22.2010 Line-up:Mirai Kawashima - Vocals, Keyboards, Orchestrations, etc.Dr. Mikannibal - Alto Saxophone, VocalsSatoshi Fujinami - BassShinichi Ishikawa - GuitarJunichi Harashima - Drums

  • Sigh (サイ, sai) is a Japanese extreme metal band from Tokyo, formed in 1989. They are credited as being one of the first Japanese black metal bands, when the majority of black metal in early 1990s came from Scandinavia. They gradually shifted from a more traditional black/thrash metal sound, to a more experimental, avant-garde style.
