In organic chemistry, an alkene is a hydrocarbon containing a carbon–carbon double bond. Alkene is often used as synonym of olefin, that is, any hydrocarbon containing one or more double bonds. Two general types of monoalkenes are distinguished: terminal and internal. Also called α-olefins, terminal alkenes are more useful.

  • Los alquenos son hidrocarburos insaturados que tienen doble enlace carbono-carbono en su molécula. Se puede decir que un alqueno es un alcano que ha perdido dos átomos de hidrógeno produciendo como resultado un enlace doble entre dos carbonos. Los alquenos cíclicos reciben el nombre de cicloalquenos. Antiguamente se les denominaba como olefinas dadas las propiedades que presentaban sus representantes más simples, principalmente el eteno, para reaccionar con halógenos y producir óleos.

Ces liaisons sont toujours de types covalentes normales parfaites. Les alcènes non cycliques n'ayant qu'une double liaison possèdent une formule brute de la forme CnH2n où n est un entier naturel supérieur ou égal à 2. L'alcène le plus simple est l'éthylène (nom usuel de l'éthène). Le terme « oléfine » était le nom donné par le passé aux alcènes ; bien qu'encore employé (ainsi que le terme « polyoléfine »), il tombe progressivement en désuétude.

  • Alkene (früher auch Olefine) sind chemische Verbindungen aus der Gruppe der aliphatischen Kohlenwasserstoffe, die an beliebiger Position eine Kohlenstoff-Kohlenstoff-Doppelbindung im Molekül besitzen. Alkene sind ungesättigte Verbindungen im Gegensatz zu den Alkanen, bei denen alle Valenzen des Kohlenstoffatoms abgedeckt (gesättigt) sind. Alkene kommen im geringen Maßstab im Erdöl vor, in der Natur werden sie als Pheromone und Phytohormone verwendet. Sie sind die wichtigsten Basisprodukte der industriellen organischen Chemie.

Gli alcheni fanno parte della classe delle olefine, alla quale appartengono anche i cicloalcheni e i polieni.Hanno formula bruta CnH2n. Il più semplice alchene esistente è l'etilene (o etene), avente formula CH2=CH2, dal quale si ottiene il polietilene attraverso polimerizzazione per addizione.
