The VTech Socrates is an 8-bit educational home video game console manufactured and released in 1988 by VTech. The console features a robot character Socrates, named after the philosopher. The character is visually similar to Johnny Five from the Short Circuit movies. It was discontinued in the early 1990s. The system features standard wireless controllers that communicated via infrared reception. VTech also distributed the system in Canada, being sold as the Socrates Saitout; Jeu Educatif Video.

El sistema estaba acompañado por un teclado inalámbrico estándar con un haz infrarrojo y dos controladores conectados a los cables superiores, así como un ratón inalámbrico. Albergaba el procesador central del Zilog Z80A con una velocidad de reloj de 3.57 MHz y 32 KB de RAM. Ses traits caractéristiques sont visuellement similaires à ceux de Johnny 5 dans les films Short Circuit. Le système comporte un clavier sans fil à réception infrarouge, ce dernier dispose de deux manettes de jeu filaires qui s'encastrent dans celui-ci.
