| - Lyle Preslar is best known as the guitar player for the hardcore punk band Minor Threat. He was a member of the band throughout its lifespan (1981-1983). Prior to Minor Threat he sang for a local band called The Extorts (sometimes called Vile Lyle and The Extorts). After Minor Threat, he formed a band called The 400 with Minor Threat bassist Brian Baker which explored Lyle and Brian's more melodic interests , but the band never got passed the demo stage. Lyle then made a brief appearance in Samhain, recording a few tracks and performing with the band at their first show. However, Lyle found the image-conscious Samhain an ill fit and the feeling must have been mutual, as Lyle was never invited back to perform following the first gig. He then went on to play the Meatmen for a number of years. Meatmen mainman Tesco Vee referred to Lyle as %22the G. Gordon Liddy of punk rock%22 due to his serious, take-charge nature with the band's business affairs. After the Meatmen split in the early '90s, Lyle went to work for Caroline Records, Razor & Tie Records, Elektra, and Sire Records Company. He is currently a practicing attorney.

Ian Mackaye has stated %22Lyle Preslar, the guitar player, I mean he's one of the most unsung guitar players. He's playing full, six-string-position barre chords at that speed-- that's just insane. His accuracy and his rhythms are so incredible.%22
